Turning Sustainability Data Collection Into a Scalable Reporting Platform
Göteborgsvarvet needed a faster, easier, and more reliable way to collect CO2-related data across one of the world’s largest half marathon events. Instead of relying on complex Excel files, manual follow-ups, and scattered submissions, K.B built a centralized sustainability reporting platform that made it easier for internal teams, suppliers, sponsors, and partners to submit the data needed for CO2 calculations. The result was a simpler reporting process, lower administrative workload, better visibility, and a reusable foundation for future events.

The Challenge
Göteborgsvarvet wanted to systematically collect sustainability data for CO2 reporting across its event ecosystem. The existing process was built around Excel files. These files contained the necessary reporting structure and calculation model, but they were not ideal for collecting information from a large number of stakeholders. Internal staff, event personnel, suppliers, sponsors, partners, and collaborators all needed to provide data across areas such as travel, food, materials, logistics, and other event-related emissions.
Our Approach
K.B built a custom web-based CO2 data collection platform designed around simplicity, speed, and adoption.
- A public submission portal for internal and external contributors
- No account creation required for submitters
- Organization selection through a dropdown
- Structured forms for categories such as travel, food, materials, and other emissions
- Centralized storage of all submitted data
- An admin dashboard for Göteborgsvarvet
- Partner and submission tracking
- Manual record creation, editing, and deletion
- Filtering and reporting overview
- Excel export functionality aligned with the existing CO2 model
